Website Health & Performance Report

Hi Ibi,

I am good, thank you, and I hope you are too.

Happy New Year, I hope you have a good 26!

I completed a report for all clients over Christmas, and this is yours. It will answer the questions below.

Health is showing red for a number of reasons. Even though your website is almost perfect, there are still areas that need work. From your side and ours, together we can improve things further. That said, I am not concerned about your site’s performance.

The SEO has not changed since the last time I worked on it, which is why SEO Edit is shown in green above. This means I know your site is ranking at the top of Google for everything around Rochford, including florist, flowers, flower delivery, same-day flowers Rochford, flower shop Rochford, and funeral flowers Rochford. You dominate the area because your site broadcasts the correct messages that Google understands, and Google now has 12 years of history for The Flower Basket Rochford, as you have been our client since 2014. Wow, thank you.

Favicon

This is the small icon that appears in Google listings next to your domain, showing your logo. After researching this over Christmas, I now have a clear list of clients who still need a favicon. As we are now in conversation, I will get my design team to action this next week and let you know when it is done.

Design Token

Green. Your website design is up to standard and was updated in 2025.

Smartphone

Green. Checked and working perfectly.

Year Live

2014. Thank you.

Days Open

6. Perfect.

Own Products

No. Google does like unique product ranges. However, because you dominate Google and have a long trading history, this is not currently an issue. That said, I would strongly advise that we start working together to add your own work and gradually replace the stock images we provide. Ideally, your site should eventually show only your own bouquets, arrangements, and tributes. This will not happen overnight, but it can be achieved over the next 12 months if you start regularly taking photos of your work. Content is king, and your own products will help increase sales by expanding your visible range.

Social

No.

Your last Instagram post was in August 2025. Posting should be weekly at an absolute minimum.

The Facebook link in the header was broken and went nowhere.

The Pinterest link works, but there have been no posts in five years.

The Twitter link works, but there have been no posts in six years.

I have now found your Facebook page on Google:
https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Flower-Basket-61551096098415/

By the time you read this email, the Facebook links on your website will be working. Your last Facebook post was 14 hours ago, which is good. However, because the link on the site was broken, Google could not directly connect your Facebook activity with your business. Fixing this creates more authority and will further cement your position on Google.

For Social to show green, you need to post weekly on both Facebook and Instagram as a minimum. I would also recommend that we remove the Twitter and Pinterest links, as these platforms are unlikely to contribute meaningfully to sales now. Please let me know if you are happy for us to do this.

Yes.

Yes.

SEO Edit

Yes, managed by Florist Window.

Address

Yes.

Telephone (local)

Yes.

Braintree

Yes, but red. Braintree is not recommended. I advise an immediate switch from Braintree to Stripe for better rates and more flexible payment options. At the moment, customers cannot pay using Apple Pay or Google Pay, which are two of the most common ways people now pay online. Braintree is an older product and has not kept up with modern payment expectations.

Moving to Stripe will allow customers to pay using their preferred method and will also speed up checkout, as customer details are stored in their Apple or Google wallet. This is often referred to as one-click ordering.

Reviews

Good.

Notes

Please visit your website and look at the main menu. Next to Home, it says “Florist Choice”. When you click this, there are no products. Customers then click back, back, and often return to Google to look for another florist. Not all customers will do this, but some will, because they assume the website is not working.

The Online Shop should always be visible in the main menu, ideally to the right of Home, not Florist Choice. Please either remove Florist Choice from the main menu or add the Florist Choice products back into that subcategory.

I will not carry out any further research or health checks on your site for now. I will wait to hear from you. It is important that you view your site as a customer and regularly check it, as issues like this can otherwise go unnoticed. If this remained unresolved over Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, I genuinely believe you could lose at least 30% of potential sales during those periods.

If we work more closely together, when you make changes, ask me to check them. Wendy was trained during a different era, which is why things like Pinterest and Twitter were added. Now that I am back, we can go through everything as if you were a new client and make sure you are fully comfortable with the admin and best practices.

I hope all of that makes sense. Overall, your site is in a good place.

Kind regards,
Tim
